NATURAL FASHION by HANS SILVESTER

We are all different from each other around the globe but we all use fashion to decorate ourselves.

The German photographer HANS SILVESTER shows us in these images the way how Surma and Mursi people of the Omo Valley in southern Ethiopia perform their ancient tradition of temporary body decoration. They don’t do it only once, but change their paintings and decorations a few times a day, the same then us when we dress up for different occasions.

Everybody of us has a different way and style, and uses objects from his surroundings to decorate himself. Further goes our surroundings, further goes our spirit of imagination and our possibilities.

I do not claim to own any of these images and give appropriate credit to their sole owner  HANS SILVESTER.

The book “NATURAL FASHION: Tribal decoration from Africa” from HANS SILVESTER with these and many more beautiful images is available here.
